Kaitlin came home from school in Halifax, to drum and paddle for the team.

Sept. 16: Montreal
I tried to capture the excitement and fury of the turns for the 2000 m race.
There are 7 turns on the course, and the boats get ever closer, vying for right-of-way coming into and out of the turn!
Sept. 13: Montreal
This is the first of the photos taken with my new camera,
a Canon, PowerShot S100.
It is the size of a deck of cards, but has all the manual controls!
This photo was taken in the Montreal Olympic Padling Basin.
I like the morning sun slanted through the paddles.

Sept. 12: Killarney
If you are ever wondering what a bunch of night-time swimmers wearing headlamps would look like, this is it!
Sept. 10: Killarney
At the entrance to the campground, this sign is a reminder of the reality!
However, we did not see one bear.
This was Dianne's first ever trip to Killarney without a bear sighting!
Sept. 9: Killarney
This was not a portage, but a 'lift-over' a beaver dam, from one part of Killarney Lake, to another.

Sept.8: Killarney
A new hike in Killarney is called The Crack.
It took five hours for the return trip - and this view was worth every step!
In the background are the lakes where we had canoes the day before.

Sept. 5: Killarney
Continuing my summer love of open water swimming, I swam across George Lake with my Trusty Torpedo.
With the rising sun and early morning mist in sight with every breath, it was a swim to remember.
Sept 4: Killarney
We camped at the George Lake Campground.
My canoe and Dianne's canoe are in the foregroound, and Turtle Rock is in the background.
Sept. 3: Killarney
As bad luck would have it, my old camera died upon arrival at Killarney.
The Killarney photos are courtesy of Frances Sanford-Smith, Anne Sewell and Dianne Stokoe.
This was my first visit to Killarney and it will not be my last!
The scenery is breathtaking!

Sept. 1: Balloon Festival
IF the wind is right and the skies are right, there is a great opportunity for photography.
You can see the Gatineau Hills in the background.
I take these photos from the Ontario side, on the Rockliffe Parkway.
Aug. 31: Balloon Festival
Every year, on the Labour Day weekend, Gatineau hosts the Hot Air Baloon Festival.
This is a view of lift-off, or launch, from the festival sight.
Sometimes as many as 50 balloons lift off, over the space of an hour.
It is marvelous!
