May 30 ~ The Downtown Boys
I just luuuuvvvv downtown Ottawa! It is architecturally interesting, vibrant and whimsical!
Yesterday, my camera club spend the day prowling around for shots!
This photo was not on my assignment list, but I will share it with you anyway!
May 29 ~ aaaaand .... Poppies!

May 28 ~ Almost Poppies
Even before they bloom, the poppy stalks grace the garden.
May 27 ~ Environmantal Portrait
My Camera Club will be 'On Assignment' for Environmental Portraits.
I'm trying to get some experience with these two photos.
Do they each tell a story?

May 26 ~ Another View
This is another view of the 10 km race on Saturday night,
taken by Guest Photographer Bob Meldrum.
I love the under-construction stadium stands in the background,
and the multi-coloured reflectionsof the runners!
Great photo, Bob!

May 25 ~ Race Weekend
After the speedy elite runners have passed, the rest of the thousands of runners stream by.
There were runners back along the Colonel By Drive, on the canal, as far as we could see!
May 25 ~ Race Weekend
This is the lead pack of elite men at the 7 km mark.
The elite women started several minutes in front of the elite men,
with the idea that there wold be a close finish, as the men caught up.
However, the lead woman was still 30 seconds ahead!
May 24 ~ Ottawa Race Weekend
The lead woman in the 10 km race, at the 7 km mark, make it look easy!
Six thousand people ran this event!

May 22 ~ Launched!
May 21 ~ Detriot at dusk
Admittedly, I am not a big city fan, but there is usually some beauty to be found.
Here, the GM buildings soar against a soft pink and grey dusk.
May 20 ~ Focus
Again, team mate Luc, with his bathing cap in clean focus, but the speed of his arm motions blurred.
Also, he shows excellent technique, with a very little head rotation to breathe.

We have green grass

But - where are the leaves?
Where are the tulips!

May 9 ~ Tempest in a Teacup
I put my 'Garden Art' teacup out in the yard,
with the intention of feeding delicate chickadees from it.
Obviously this squirrel has not respect for my 'intentions'!
Even the 'butterfly' behind him does not frighten him away.
